Southlands is a community on mission. In order to fulfill the mission that the Lord has called us to, Southlands is looking to hire a highly qualified person for a new position titled the Assistant Director of Operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assistant Director of Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to and work with Executive Pastor on all projects and tasks related to church operations 
  • Assist the Executive Pastor in scheduling and organizing key church events (Elder’s Planning, Elder’s and Wives Retreat, Elder’s and Wives Christmas Party)
  • Liaison with outside parties that rent space from Southlands Church (both Brea and Chino)
  • Serve as the CCB expert for Southlands Church and maintain the church database
  • Assist the Executive Pastor in serving the congregation leaders
  • Assist the Executive Pastor in coordinating Directional Team Meetings (preparation, scheduling, etc.)
  • Provide oversight for the Southlands Brea serve team captains
  • Supervise the Southlands Church Administrator
  • Work with Executive Pastor to oversee facilities & schedule building use
  • Oversee Sunday morning operations
  • Plan, organize and supervise Brea events

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong evidence of Christian maturity 
  • Passion for Jesus’ Church and His people 
  • Exceptional relational skills 
  • Significant work experience working in management, administration and/or event planning 
  • Healthy relational boundaries 
  • High “EQ” Emotional Intelligence
  • Exemplary administration, planning and organization skills 
  • Ability to foresee and coordinate the various components that go into event  
  • Ability to recruit, train, and thank volunteers and volunteer teams  
  • Ability to be led, take direction and quickly respond to feedback
  • Ability to supervise, support, and lead the Southlands Administrator 
  • Ability to be a self-directed in managing time and tasks 
  • Able to effectively communicate with church elders and staff, church members, outside vendors and members of the public with the appropriate information and tone 
  • Proficiency in database systems, GSuite or Microsoft teams 
  • Ability to learn new tasks, systems, or technologies quickly 
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or further higher education 

HOURS AND COMPENSATION:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Salary 
  • Medical and Dental insurance, 403B
